Congressional Advocacy
The LXR Group maintains a robust legislative advocacy practice focused on the Senate Banking and House Financial Services Committees. Having worked extensively with both Democratic and Republican members of these Committees over many years to address hundreds of bills, amendments, and their related issues we know how to win a majority.
What We Do
We help you gain policy representation
There is a saying in public policy that “if you are not at the table, you’re on the menu.” This admonition has been passed down for decades, by Democrats and Republicans alike, because it speaks to an essential truth: If you are not an active participant in a policy discussion or debate that implicates one or more of your organization’s vital interests, you are in a vulnerable and risky position.
Legislative advocacy and lobbying
The LXR Group provides boots-on-the-ground policy representation to help you engage Congressional committees, Members of Congress, and Congressional Staff. We have two decades of experience navigating the legislative halls of power, and strong bipartisan relationships with legislators on both sides of the Capitol.
The firm prides itself on having particularly strong knowledge of and relationships with the Congressional committees that deal with financial services and capital markets policy, including the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Banking Committee.
Testimony and witness preparation
Our team members have successfully prepared dozens of witnesses to testify before House and Senate Committees and Subcommittees; facilitated the introduction and passage of legislation touching virtually all aspects of financial regulatory policy; and influenced landmark financial services bills.
We’ve worked on:
- The Dodd-Frank Act of 2010
- The JOBS Act of 2012
- The Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act of 2018
Legislative drafting
The LXR team has extensive experience with legislative drafting. We have authored or helped to author over 100 bills and amendments that have been introduced or considered in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.
Legislative research and analysis
Additionally, the LXR Group assists its clients in making sense of legislative developments and trends at the federal and state level so that they can better anticipate and prepare for today’s opportunities and tomorrow’s policy challenges.
